Tori-Jay Mordey is an established First Nation, Indigenous Australian Illustrator and Artist based in Meanjin/Brisbane.

She openly shares both her Torres Strait Islander and English heritage, which is often reflected in her contemporary Indigenous art practice. With over 10 years of professional experience within the art industry, she prides herself in her skills as a mural artist, digital artist, and painter.

Tori-Jay has a very recognisable digital art style which often depicts exaggerated forms of human connection in relation to love, loss, and identity. She thoroughly enjoys creating pieces that emotionally speaks to the viewer while also over saturating the space with colour and light.

Tori-Jay hopes her art and actions can make a difference when it comes to representing herself, her community, and contemporary Torres Straits Islander artists as a whole.

Open Season is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland’s QASP and Strategic Partnership’s fund and Revive Live - an initiative of the Australian Government.
