Against The Grain
Independent Magandjin-based promoting label GRAIN is celebrating their tenth anniversary in 2026 and teaming up with Open Season to bring back the iconic Against The Grain Festival, for the first time since 2018.
Against The Grain Festival 2026 is a block party taking over the historic Clarence Corner in Woolloongabba, activating The Princess Theatre, Brisbane Brewing Co, Echo & Bounce, Season Three, Woolloongabba Art Gallery, C’est Bon plus an outdoor carpark stage.
One ticket will give you access to over 30 performances across multiple venues in a never-been-used-before precinct.

Against The Grain doesn’t end when the stages power down—it shifts gears. From 10pm–2am, the night continues at The Princess Theatre with an official afterparty curated by Naarm-based producer Milo Eastwood, extending the festival’s ethos into something looser, deeper and built for the late hours.
